Nature and Culture

The Hoge Veluwe National Park was created in the early 20th century through the efforts of Anton and Helene Kröller-Müller.

The Kröller-Müllers began by purchasing large pieces of land in the Veluwe region. Their goal was to create a contiguous estate that would serve as a country estate, hunting ground, equestrian sports area, and nature reserve, as well as a center for visual arts and architecture.

With a unique combination of nature and culture, the Park has developed into one of the most important national parks in the Netherlands.
